Introduction
●Collagen is a protein extracted from animals, and its form is similar to the proteins required by the human body so it is commonly applied in high-tech medical beauty products.
●Collagen requires different extraction procedures according to different purity, and its application fields and raw material costs also have considerable differences.
Specification
●Natural hemostatic material
The technology of material purification and composite is used to make collagen have hemostatic effect, and the product form according can be changed according to different wound characteristics, such as sponge, hydrogel, membranes and so on.
●Medical and cosmetics
Gelatin, one of the derivatives of collagen, is traditionally used in food and cosmetics. Now it is mostly used in biomedicine because of its advantages of cell adhesion structure, ready availability, high biocompatibility, biodegradability and low immunogenicity and can be an excellent material to be applied in tissue engineering biomaterials and drug delivery.
Another derivative, Polypeptide, has been used in skin care products due to its low molecular weight and can be easily absorbed by the skin.
