TTRI organized "The Committee of Conformity Assessment of Accreditation and Certification on Functional and Technical Textiles" in 2002. The members of the committee are composed of leading textile companies in Taiwan, leading textile-related R&D institutes, textile-related academia, governmental officers, and representing textile consumers. They get together to establish the Specified Requirements of Functional and Technical Textiles. TTRI has also been accredited by TAF in 2005 to become a certification body, and provides the certification service. Furthermore, under the currently trend of globalization, TTRI provides the international certification services of the personal protective equipment for European Union. TTRI has been audited and certified by TÜV Rheinland Group for CE certification. The fabric or garment manufactures can be certified in Taiwan directly and save a lot of time. In fact, the collaboration between TÜV Rheinland Group and TTRI reduces the lead time from 6~8 weeks to 3~4 weeks.
